Construction Activities of the TAPI Project Progress Rapidly
Construction activities on the (TAPI) Gas Pipeline Project within the territory of Afghanistan are advancing rapidly. Preparatory works are progressing steadily across various sections of the project, including right-of-way preparation, transportation of pipes and essential equipment, trench excavation, pipeline welding, and pipe-laying operations.
According to the latest progress updates, 101 kilometers of pipeline have been laid, while 126 kilometers of the project corridor have been prepared. In addition, 108 kilometers of connective and monitoring roads have been constructed. Furthermore, trenches extending 70.2 kilometers have been excavated for pipeline installation, and so far 36 kilometers of pipeline have been buried underground.
For the accelerated implementation of the upcoming phases of the project, 89.5 kilometers of pipeline have been transported to the project site in order to accelerate the construction activities of the project.
The TAPI Project is one of Afghanistan's most significant strategic and economic projects. Upon completion, the project is expected to play an important role in energy connectivity, increasing transit revenues, creating employment opportunities, and promoting economic growth.
