Takhar Gold Mine Contract Signed
Mr. Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, signed the contract for the alluvial gold mines located in the Shul Dara and Warchi areas of Chah Ab District, Takhar Province, on Sunday, 5 July 2026, with Abdul Basir Mohammadi Afghan Mining Extraction and Processing Company. The total investment value of the two mining projects amounts to (8906400) USD, with each mine having a contract value of (44532000).
Speaking at the contract signing ceremony, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum highlighted the significance of the project and stated that the contract has been concluded for a period of ten years, with 40% royalty allocated to the Islamic Emirate. He further emphasized that the contracting company is obligated to carry out all activities in full compliance with the Mining Law, relevant procedures, and contractual commitments.
It is noteworthy that, in addition to the payment of the royalty, the company has committed to invest (2000000) USD in various social services across both areas. Furthermore, the company is required to fulfill its commitments to environmental protection. The Project is expected to generate approximately (3000) direct employment opportunities and 4000 indirect employment opportunities for local residents in the aforementioned areas.
