Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori held a video conference with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) representatives and discussed the establishment of a comprehensive information management system for the Mines and Hydro-Carbon sector.

 

Mr. Chakhansori said that, MoMP along with USGS has worked closely to collect data about the sector, and now, there is a need to place this data in a comprehensive and orderly system.

In order to accelerate the investment process in the sector, facilitate information to investors and information are stored in a single, comprehensive and reliable system; all Information from various sources in Afghanistan, researches, maps, surveys, areas coordinates and all useful features should be placed in this system. This information can be used effectively and transparently to attract investment.

USGS representatives welcomed MoMP initiative and assured technical assistance in this regard.
