A Consultative Meeting was held with the Private Sector to finalize the Mechanism for Sale and Export of Precious and Semi-Precious Stones

Mohammad Atiq Zaki, Deputy Minister for Policy and Extraction Facilitation programs at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, met with traders of precious and semi-precious stones this afternoon. During the meeting, discussions were held on finalizing the mechanism for sale and export of precious and semi-precious stones.

Mr. Zaki said, “We want to facilitate national and international investors for investment and legalizing illegal mining by the designation of effective programs to facilitate the growth of national incomes and the creation of job opportunities.”

Deputy Minister for Policy and Extractive Programs also provided comprehensive information on the steps taken by the Ministry to legalize illegal mining.

At the end of meeting, decision was held to include the views of Traders and Investors on Precious and Semi-Precious stones’ Export Procedure. And it should be finalized on next Thursday's scheduled meeting and then submitted to the High Economic Council for approval.
