Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori signed a Memorandum of Understanding about the land acquisition on the TAPI pipeline route with the Acting Minister of Urban Development and Land Mr. Mahmood Karzai and Executive Director of TAPI pipeline Muhammad Murad Amanov.

M.Haroon Chakhansori said that the TAPI project’s importance is not only about the gas supply, but has a vital role in our local communities’ economic growth and strengthening regional convergence.

This MoU is signed to start the land acquisition on the TAPI pipeline route and the start of project work in Herat, so that the TAPI project is implemented according to the schedule, he added

Acting Minister of Urban Development and Land Mr. Mahmood Karzai said that the TAPI project’s economic benefits are of a great importance to Afghanistan. By signing this MoU, we will start the land acquisition process, so that ground is cleared for the construction work of the project, he said.

Executive Director of TAPI pipeline Mr. M. Murad Amanov said that after completing the land acquisition process, we will be able to start the construction work of the project in Afghanistan by early 2021.
